Three Lochs Way

Three Lochs Way

Length <60km
Max transport gap <20km

A 50km walk between Helensburgh and Inveruglas.

Public transport connections (9 locations, 1 matrix) at key staging points. The only real candidate as a local base station is Helensburgh, though Dumbarton or (more probably) Glasgow are other options.

Walkers should note the 160m difference in altitude between path and bus stop at Faslane. Furthermore, the use of the A817 to descend towards Garelochhead (rail and bus) cannot be recommended on safety grounds: the Old Glen Fruin Road is the only practicable link in the Faslane/Garelochhead area.
