Fife Coastal Path

Length >60km
Max transport gap >20km

A walk of 183km between Kincardine-on-Forth and Newburgh.

The route hugs the entire coast of Fife (“coast” being given a liberal interpretation west of Wormit where, for want of clear coastal access, the route takes to the eastern extension of the Ochil Hills) which is accessible using public transport links (61 locations, 4 matrices) throughout. The choice of base stations is huge, with the chain of settlements between Inverkeithing and Wormit linked by rail or bus services. Kirkcaldy, Anstruther and St Andrews probably shade the other places as choices, unless you have a clear liking for other particular spots en route.

Observations

For some walkers, the northern section between Wormit and Newburgh may require a taxi link at Brunton for Cupar.
