Pennine walks (north)

This grouping covers the National Parks and Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty in the Pennines (North Pennines, Yorkshire Dales and Nidderdale) plus, as an overlap with the next-door grouping to the south, the upland area bounded by Hellifield, Ilkley, Halifax and Burnley. Hadrian’s Wall forms the northern boundary.

Pennine Way

A walk of 422km between Edale and Kirk Yetholm; this National Trail does not qualify as a Green Walk. In addition to the 45km gap between Byrness (sketchy bus service) and Kirk Yetholm, buses connect with different settlements from the next access point in many areas.


Ribble Way
