Green walks by rail from London

This set of pages lists the walks which may be reached in a (slightly generous) hour’s travel from a London rail terminus. It does not suggest that the entire walk referenced may be walked from London termini, just that you may make contact with the walk. Due to the multiplicity of rail routes to the south and south-east of London out of Victoria, Charing Cross, Blackfriars, Cannon Street and London Bridge, these are grouped by rail company rather than by station.

The notes below indicate the farthest stations considered for inclusion.

Liverpool Street (LST)
Stations as far as Ipswich, and on the branch lines south of Ipswich; stations as far as Cambridge, and on the branch lines south of Bishop’s Stortford.

King’s Cross (KGX)
Stations as far as Cambridge and Grantham.

St Pancras (STP)
Stations as far as Leicester, and most stations on the High Speed line.

Euston (EUS)
Stations as far as Coventry and Nuneaton.

Marylebone (MYB)
All stations on the Aylesbury and Oxford lines, and as far as Banbury on the Birmingham line.

Paddington (PAD)
Stations as far as Oxford, Kemble, Chippenham and Pewsey.

Waterloo (WAT)
Stations as far as Wokingham, Basingstoke, Winchester, Petersfield, Dorking and Horsham.

Southern Railway
Stations as far as Billingshurst, Brighton and Lewes.

Southeastern
Stations as far as Wadhurst, Canterbury, Dover and Faversham.
